Crimson Glow Nail Polish Swatches
This gorgeous polish is inspired by and named after the color Angela Chase dyed her hair in the first episode of My So-Called Life.
Maker description: Maroon base filled with red-bronze-copper multichrome shimmer, with a mix of linear and scattered holo. It’s a shifty sparkly beauty, and hopefully it’s a worthy tribute to Angela’s iconic red hair.
2 coats + topcoat
My thoughts: Amazing formula! This polish paints like a dream, just be sure not to overload your brush. I already knew I loved the base color and shift from looking at the bottle, but I didn't realize just how much sparkle was packed into this beauty until I got it on my nails. The combo of linear and scattered holo really amps up the already gorgeous base. It's vampy, sparkly and full of depth.
Central Perk Tinted Lip Balm Swatches
Central Perk is a tinted lip balm named after and inspired by the coffee shop on Friends. My husband and I have rewatched Friends at least three times through, so I was extra excited for this inspiration. :)
Maker description: It’s tinted like hot chocolate but tastes like cappuccino. When I decided to do another tinted lip balm for May, I knew I had to pay homage to the brown lip trends of the 90s! I tried to go subtle and wearable though; on me it wears like a pinkish taupe shade.
The formula is very similar to "Solar Flare" and “Gummy Bear Kisses”, (two previously released tinted balms), but this one is much more sheer and a perfect starter shade for those who prefer a subtle wash of color.
My thoughts: Just like the others, I found this shade very wearable. I was nervous when I read "brown" and even more nervous when I opened the container to see a hot cocoa brown product, but I was pleasantly surprised at how sheer and more pink/nude leaning it is. It's extremely wearable for a sheer wash of your-lips-but-better color. It has a subtly sweet coffee flavor that I think will appeal to nearly everyone. I've also included an arm swatch comparison below to the two previous shades, Gummy Bear Kisses and Solar Flare.
